Rocket Mixer has announced a three-day startup-building journey across the United States. Builders from technical and nontechnical backgrounds will form teams in New York, learn their challenge, and develop working products while traveling west by train.
A startup lab in motion
On October 3, participants will meet in New York City, form teams, and receive a challenge they have not seen in advance. They will then board an Amtrak train for San Francisco. The build happens during the journey, with no extra development window after arrival.
The aim is for five teams to create five functioning products. The group spans developers, product specialists, marketers, and experienced builders who will share the limited space, time, and resources of the train.
Arrival and Demo Day
The teams are due in San Francisco on October 6. They will present their work to founders, investors, operators, and the technology community at Demo Day on October 7 during SF Tech Week, with opportunities to keep developing their ideas after the trip.
The story behind the products
Rocket Mixer plans to document the journey as a series, following team formation, creative decisions, late-night work, setbacks, and the final presentations. Founder Andrea Garau created the lab as an experiment in what people can make together when the usual startup setting falls away.
